Whats the best Apple Watch face designer app
Its a great question to ask. I had the same puzzled thought when I purchased my Apple Watch Ultra last October. After doing some intense research 🧐 and wasted money on poor apps, I discovered Clockology.
The app is without question the best watch face "DESIGNER" app currently available (correct at the time of writing). I say "designer" as it really does allow you to make your own designs with a very simple but intuitive interface.
Why do I say that?
I have downloaded many apps looking to find the best solution for designing bespoke self-designed watch faces. I wanted to style my watch to my own personal style. I wont mention other apps out there as they are ten a penny.
They are mainly for including a background image to a very lacking inability to add live complications. If your looking for a fake Rolex, Cartier or Richard Mille then these are the the apps for you.
Many people online, as I have come to find out, don't realise what this brilliant app is capable of. This website has even been born of the back of the app so that says a lot about how capable Clockology's app really is.
How much does it cost?
As is the norm nowadays, most apps have a cost associated with them. Usually for additional features. Clockology is no different. The app is free to download and use to a certain extent.
The cost kicks in if you would like live complications on your watch face designs. This is what I was looking for for as you can add an image (background) using the standard Apple Watch app.
I wanted to be able to be creative and have full control of what complication I had on my face.
Its worth every penny 💷. I would recommend trying the app first to see if its right for you. If not, you may be like many people I have been in contact with who are just looking 👀 for cool pre-built faces. Hence, the reason I built this site.
Let me explain why it's my go to app
It offers the ability to add a range of complications (A complication is any function on a watch other than the display of the time).
Here are some examples of what I mean.
- Live Heart Rate
- Weather - current & future, wind speeds, rain amounts, UV, descriptions and many more
- Moon Phases (there are eight)
- Sun Rise & Sunset Times
- HRV (Variable Heart Rate)
- Day, Month, Year, Week of the Year
- Health - exercise time, distance walked, flights climbed, calories burned, to name a few
- Battery health (how much life is left before a charge is needed). My apple Ultra is lasting around three days so it's not so important to me but it is a great feature to see with just a glance.
- You can even add video to your faces.
As you can see this makes the Clockology app stand out from the crowd. If your design allows, you could in theory have all of these on just one face. Here is an example of how I added several complications to one of my designs.
